Our entire team shifted focus to collecting donations, delivering supplies to evacuation centers, supporting firefighters on the front lines, and connecting displaced families with disaster relief resources across the city. We spent those days in the same neighborhoods where we normally install and repair roofs, except this time we were handing out water, helping people sort through what was left, and making calls to get families into temporary housing.
When the immediate crisis passed, we continued working with affected homeowners to assess fire and smoke damage to their roofs and helped several families navigate their insurance claims so they could begin rebuilding without getting taken advantage of during the worst moment of their lives.
