Los Angeles & The Beach Community
A gable roof that Los Angeles property owners choose delivers reliable performance with a straightforward structure that is easy to build, ventilate, and maintain. The two-slope configuration is a popular gable style roof for traditional homes, modern residences, and a wide range of accessory structures because it sheds water efficiently on both sides, supports excellent attic ventilation through the end walls, and pairs well with a broad range of roofing materials including asphalt shingle, metal, tile, and wood shake. A professional roof inspection is the best starting point for determining whether your existing system needs repair, replacement, or a full redesign.
Proper gable roof framing is the foundation of a long-performing system. Whether part of a new roof installation or a full replacement project, every structural and material detail is handled by our team with care and precision.
Over time, even well-built gable roofs may develop issues that require professional attention. Common problems include flashing failure at the rake edges, shingle lift on windward slopes after storms, and deterioration at the intersections of a cross gable roof where two gable sections meet at perpendicular angles. These junctions require careful valley flashing and precise framing to prevent long-term water intrusion. Timely roof repair addresses these issues before they develop into structural water damage or interior leaks. Our team works across all gable roof material types and pitch configurations throughout Los Angeles.
When a gable roof has reached the end of its service life, a full replacement delivers the best long-term outcome. We provide complete replacement services across Los Angeles, removing the existing system and installing new materials suited to the building’s design and local climate conditions. Where the existing framing and deck are structurally sound, reroofing over the current layer reduces project cost and timeline without compromising performance. Our team assesses every situation individually and presents clear written options before any work begins.
The best gable style roof for a Los Angeles property depends on the building type, the architectural style, and the ventilation requirements of the interior space. A steeper pitch works well for properties that benefit from high attic clearance and strong natural drainage during seasonal rain. A shallower gable roof pitch suits modern additions and outbuildings where a low-profile roofline is the priority. Our team evaluates each property individually and recommends the pitch and material combination that delivers the best long-term performance.
Gable roof framing involves a central ridge board running the full length of the structure, with common rafters cut to matching angles descending from each side of the ridge to the wall plates below. Accurate layout of rafter lengths, bird’s mouth cuts, and ridge alignment is critical to ensuring both slopes are consistent and properly supported across the full roof gable span. The key structural elements include correct rafter sizing based on span and load, proper collar tie or ridge beam placement, and secure connections at every bearing point.
A dutch gable roof is a hybrid system that combines a standard gable at the top with hip sections at the lower portion of each end. The result is a roof that retains the triangular gable end for ventilation and aesthetic character while gaining the added wind resistance and structural bracing of a hip roof at the base. A dutch gable roof is a strong choice for properties that need improved performance against wind uplift without giving up the ceiling height and natural light benefits that a full gable configuration provides.
A cross gable roof consists of two or more gable sections intersecting at perpendicular or angled junctions, typically used on L-shaped or T-shaped floor plans. The intersecting valleys of a cross gable roof require precise framing and careful valley flashing to prevent long-term water intrusion at the meeting points. This configuration is common on larger custom homes and traditional residential builds where different wings of the structure each carry their own roofline. Our team has extensive experience framing and finishing cross gable intersections to the highest standard.
A gable roof typically warrants replacement when the material is approaching the end of its expected lifespan, when damage is widespread across one or both slopes, or when repeated repairs are no longer cost-effective. Signs that a gable roof needs replacement include persistent leaks after repairs, visible deck deterioration, widespread granule loss on shingle systems, or flashing failure at the rake edges and ridge. Contact us for a free inspection and written estimate to determine the right course of action for your property.
The gable roof shape suits a wide range of building types including custom single-family homes, residential additions, detached garages, barns, and modern commercial structures. The triangular end walls of a gable roof shape allow for large windows that bring natural light into the upper portions of the interior and support efficient attic ventilation on both sides of the ridge. It is one of the most versatile and cost-effective roof forms available, making it a strong choice for properties across Los Angeles and throughout Southern California.

We recently had our roof done by roofer bros and we had such a great experience. Friendly, professional and got the job done much quicker than we expected. The team that took our old roof off was very nice and they worked incredibly fast, and the same with the instillation. We have a great looking roof for years to come! I highly recommend!Posted on Google![]()

Their roofing team re-roofed my home and I am pleased with their work and service. During the initial discussions they thoroughly and patiently explained the pros and cons of all the options and made me feel like I was well informed. Their communication was very good and the job itself went smoothly. Overall a great experience.Posted on Google![]()

Hubby and I are so happy! We love our beautiful new roof. Both Sako and Paul are total professionals, honest and truly take pride in their work. Their work ethic is top notch and are one of the hardest working professionals I know. They totally explained our options and never pressured us. The quote he gave us was very reasonable and during the process we even asked him for a few extra planks to be replaced and he was so accommodating. We are so grateful for everything he did for us! Thank you so much!Posted on Google![]()

Got three quotes before going with Roofer Bros and glad I did. Free inspection, honest about what actually needed fixing, and the financing made it work for us. Crew finished on time and cleaned up after. Roof's held up great through the rains. Highly recommend.Posted on Google![]()

Over the winter our roof started to have leaks. So we needed to prepair, we called up roofer bros after reading good reviews. They came over and quoted the job the next day. We really liked that he didn't have any hidden cost. We had got a few quotes but the others had hidden cost and used cheaper product. Work started on time and was completed in 3 days. Sako and crew did a fabulous job on the roof. Everything was done with detail. Some of our gutter sections weren't easy to put in because of other structures, but they got them in. Nice job!Posted on Google![]()

We requested roofing quotes for our two homes. We got a callback from the project manager Sako right away followed by site visits from him a few days later. The quotes were very clear with detailed additional information, office was very prompt in returning our phone calls. The projects were fully completed within 3 days each. The crew worked fast and thoroughly cleaned up afterwards.Posted on Google![]()

Needed repair of water and termite damaged eaves and soffits. They did not repair most of the damage and replaced wood beams in a piecemeal manner. The work was sloppy, and even though I had the correct paint, they used some white paint that didn’t match the house trim. The also left paint spots on the driveway and walkway. We had to hire a painter to fix the paint issues and will have to hire a carpenter to fix the haphazard work that was done. We’re not happy.Posted on Google![]()

We were way overdue in getting our roof replaced and finally decided to take it on this year. After meeting with several contractors, we settled on The Roofer Bros. We worked with Sako who was great and I have to say everything went smoothly. The teams doing the work were both efficient in removing the old roof, installing the new roof, and in installing our new gutters. I would recommend them for your roofing project and would gladly work with them again for any future project.
